Have you been using your beauty sponge regularly and haven’t had the chance to do a proper clean because you just haven’t had the time? Well, we have a quick and easy way to clean your beauty sponge in no time! Follow the steps below and your sponge will be clean and ready to go for your next makeup application.
What you will need:
A clean cup
Dish Liquid
Your dirty beauty sponge
Microwave
Directions
Fill your cup halfway up with water, add dish liquid to the water (approx. 5 drops or enough to make your water soapy) and mix to create a soapy solution
Place you beauty sponge in the water
Push your beauty sponge down into the water, making sure it absorbs some of the solution and becomes saturated
Put the cup, with your saturated beauty sponge in it, in the microwave and microwave on high for 20 seconds
Once done, remove the cup from the microwave and remove the beauty sponge from the cup, squeezing some of the liquid out in the cup.
Once you remove your sponge, discard the water in the cup (you will see that the water has changed colour from all the product dirt that was in your sponge).
Then wash your beauty sponge thoroughly under clean running water, constantly squeezing the water and excess dirt out of the sponge. Do this until the water you’re squeezing out of your sponge runs clear.
Once clean, leave your beauty sponge on the container, or something similar, to dry standing up. (This helps to maintain the shape and life span of your sponge)
