School Supplies Checklist

It's that time of year again! You see all of the ads on TV and all the stores starting to put out all of their school supplies. You need to start gathering the necessary materials for your child but don't know where to start? Check out the list of items you may want to consider during your preparation.


Kindergarten

  • Pencil box

  • Plastic folders/Mailbag (This is for all communication with the school)

  • Tissues

  • Backpack

  • Lunchbox or bag


Note: ** Things such as: Crayons, Colored pencils, Washable markers, pencils, Pencil sharpener, Erasers, Glue sticks, Blunt-tipped scissors, construction paper, paint and other art materials are generally provided by the school to be used in the classroom.


Grades 1-5

  • Pencil box/pouch

  • Crayons

  • Colored pencils

  • Washable markers

  • Highlighters

  • No. 2 pencils

  • Pencil sharpener

  • Ballpoint pens

  • Erasers

  • Glue sticks

  • Ruler

  • Blunt-tipped scissors

  • Plastic folders

  • Assorted construction paper

  • Wide-ruled notebook or pad

  • Index cards

  • Three-ring binder

  • Lined Paper

  • Graph Paper

  • Subject dividers

  • Calculator

  • Personal organizer/ planner

  • Tissues

  • Backpack (If needed)

  • Lunchbox or bag (if needed)

**Note: This checklist is a guideline. Many items you may have previously purchased, do not necessarily need replacing. Replace what has been used/damaged/lost and reuse the rest!


Grades 6-8 and High School

  • Pencil pouch

  • Blue or black ballpoint pens

  • No. 2 pencils

  • Pencil sharpener

  • Highlighters

  • Permanent markers

  • Erasers

  • Three-ring binder

  • Three-hole-punch

  • Lined paper or spiral notebooks

  • Graph paper

  • Subject dividers

  • Index cards

  • Plastic folders

  • Glue

  • Post-it Notes

  • White-Out

  • Protractor

  • Ruler

  • Scissors

  • Graphing calculator

  • Combination lock

  • USB Key/Flash Drive

  • Personal organizer/ planner

  • Book covers

  • Backpack (if needed)

  • Lunchbox or bag (if needed)

**Note: Again, this checklist is a guideline. Many items you may have previously purchased, do not necessarily need replacing. Replace what has been used/damaged/lost and reuse the rest!


** You may want to also consider getting a computer/laptop and a printer. Many of your child's projects will have to be completed on a computer and printed for submission. If you have your own at home, it makes the process much easier.
