Blue skies, sunshine and warm weather are some of the great reasons people flock to Clearwater/Saint Petersburg year round. Not only are these cities laid back but there are many activities and sightseeing you can do too. Escape the cold weather and get ready to soak up the sun and have some fun. Clearwater Beach & Pier 60

This beach really lives up to its honor as it was voted America's #1 beach in 2018. Stretching 3 miles along the Gulf, its soft, white sand and crystal blue waters make the perfect setting for relaxation. If you're up for something adventurous there are a number of water sports such as jet skiing, parasailing, and stand-up paddle boarding, to name a few. If you want to stay inland, you can rollerblade or bike ride along the beachfront promenade. There's also an array of casual dining restaurants (a handful that sits right on the beach) where you can enjoy some of the best seafood! And let's not forget Pier 60, where you can unwind and enjoy the beautiful sunset. When the sun is down, Pier 60 hosts a nightly festival with street performers and craft vendors.  Clearwater Marine Aquarium

Opened in 1972, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick and injured marine animals. Great learning experience for both kids and adults and is the permanent home to Winter, a bottlenose dolphin that was rescued in 2005 when her tail was caught in a crab trap. Winter starred in the 2011 Dolphin Tale and its sequel Dolphin Tale 2 which was partially shot at the aquarium. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is also home to a number of animals including - stingrays, sea turtles, nurse sharks, great white pelicans and more! The kids will surely love this.  Florida Botanical Gardens

The Florida Botanical Gardens is known as the 'urban oasis', with acres showcasing flora, fauna, and natural resources. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed to maintain the conservation. There are annual events and programs that occur, Wildlife and Habitats to be seen, a childrens trail, and aquatic habitat. This is definitely an easy going, fun activity for the family.

Largo Central Park

This fun-filled park features a huge playground and an open field for the kids to play, you could have a barbecue or simply just to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather. The playground has everything for kids ranging from infants to 10. Also the first weekend of every month they host free train rides for kids. And there is a huge public library across the park that has an awesome children's wing with activities and a designated play area (just in case it starts to pour). Celebration Station

Celebration Station is the family fun spot! An amusement park with arcade games, mini-golf, bumper boats, go-karts and more. Many celebrate birthdays or simply go for the food and games - what more can a kid ask for!

Popular Activites Deep-Sea Fishing: Charter a boat for a full or half day right at Clearwater Beach. You and the gang are sure to make a great catch. There are several companies that go out each day (weather permitting), but it is wise to call ahead and book in advance because these get booked pretty quickly. Dinner Boat Cruises: With the warm weather and beautiful sunset why not have dinner sailing through the Gulf. Many opt for something a little different. It takes about 2 hours, but its worth the view and the food is great. Most popular dinner cruises depart from Clearwater Beach, however you would need to book in advance.  Nightlife: While Downtown Saint Petersburg is an old town with lots of history, it still has a vibrant nightlife for adults. From bars to trendy hot spots, this is the area you want to be in where its not over crowded or overpriced. Drinks coupled with amazing food you'll surely enjoy the night.
